College Church Caring for the Earth

        College Community Congregational Church UCC is committed to caring for all of creation. In 2007,

College Church became the first church in the Central Valley (and the second in the United Church of Christ) to

install solar electric panels on its roof. The 28.875 kW system is sized to eliminate eliminate our electric bills and

provide clean power when our neighbors need it most. You can monitor how much power it's producing here:

       In addition, our Peace and Justice committee has held a number of events to inform the community of

environmental issues. They've shown movies such as "An Inconvenient Truth," "Who Killed the Electric Car?"

and "The Future of Food." In addition to education efforts, the committee works to keep environmental

concerns at the forefront of congregational life.
