All Church Camp 2007:  Mountain Heaven

About 25 adults and 8 children attended all church camp "Mountain Heaven, 2007".  Friday evening we greeted the campers as they arrived with Rev Lu Parks as the Camp Director. We had a great taco salad dinner, then enjoyed each others' company around the campfire.  Meals were provided by cooks Penny Carroll, Sue Hipp, Margery Mulvihill, and Robin Carlson.

Saturday morning "Meadowtations" was facilitated by Rev. Lu, and mid-morning Adult Time, "Talking about Wholeness" was facilitated by Jeff Crews.  Children's activities were arranged by Sean Carlson with help from Tiffany and Jessica Horton and Sam Srauy.

Saturday afternoon was filled with trips to the swimming hole, games, discussions, book reading, and naps.  Saturday evening we had a wonderful line-up for our TNT (Talent/No Talent) show.  Susan Liberty and Paige Newport did some stand up comedy, Boone recited poetry, Sarah Fey intrigued us with her remarkable ability to hum and whistle at the same time, Annie VP and her gang sang and provided info about "Sun, Soil, Water, Air", the kids (the Vue children (Souaka, PaChia, Maidia, and Kong Peng, and Paige and Everette Newport) delighted us with some songs, the cooks and some recruits (Spence Hipp and Jeff Crews) did a funny skit, Sam Srauy (on guitar) and Tiffany Horton sang to us, we laughed with the "Old Farts" (Helen Winkel, Marge Kelly, Rev Lu, and Jack VP) who sang and entertained us, we had a cute rendition of "I'm a Little Teapot", and the finale took us over the top with Jessica, Tiffany, Sean, and Sam in their improv of "Getting Ready for the Prom" (you'll have to ask someone about that skit!).  After that we made 'smores and sang around the campfire and played games.

The youth did the service Sunday morning, down in the meadow, about feeling close to God in the mountains with Jeff Crews and Rev. Dave leading us in communion.   Then we packed up camp and headed back to the valley away from the cool (cold) evenings and newly created friendships and memories. We hope you will consider joining us next year!
